Craig Brater, M.D.	GUIDELINES This website focuses on drugs for which a disease process (e.g., cirrhosis) or aging affects kinetics or dynamics of response in a clinically significant way. The drugs are presented with specific kinetic data and guidelines for dosing. If a drug does not appear, it either has not been marketed for general use, was not deemed close enough to market to warrant consideration, or has been inadvertently overlooked. The data are a synthesis of results from studies felt to be most accurate for each drug. In some instances, parameters have been recalculated. The data are derived from studies in adults and should be extrapolated to infants and children with caution, if at all. The information presented on this website has been gathered and curated by D. Craig Brater, M.D. over the course of the last 25 years. It establishes a portal of knowledge about pharmacokinetic data and dosing guidelines of clinically-used drugs. The mission of this site is to serve as a central repository for practitioners and increase awareness about the intricacies of clinical drug use.	DISCLAIMER These guidelines serve only as a starting point for therapy and from which dosing must be tailored to the needs of the individual patient. Fletcher FELLOWSHIP TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES Available July 2008 The Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the Indiana University School of Medicine seeks candidates with Internal Medicine, Pediatric or Psychiatry residency training for a two to three year NIH-sponsored program of research training in Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics which prepares trainees for careers as independent investigators in academia, industry or government. Candidates for NIH sponsorship must be US citizens or permanent residents with an MD, PharmD or PhD degree and projected completion of residency training. Trainees may be eligible for $35,000 of loan reimbursement per year during their training via the NIH Clinical Research Loan Reimbursement program.
